Leviticus 19:9-18 / John 13:31-35
This week, we read the Great Commandment from Jesus, and the source of that commandment in Leviticus.
Our readings are Leviticus 19:9-18 and John 13:31-35.
This may be the first time you have read Leviticus. Notice how care for the “alien” (think of immigrants and refugees) is stressed.
Notice how Jesus stresses that the quality of our mutual love as disciples is a form of preaching — people are watching us.
How might you redouble your effort to build MBPPC into a community of compassion and mutual love, knowing that many of the people who are watching consider the Church to be a greedy, judgmental, and hypocritical institution?
